Wheat dara remains weak on increased supply

  • New Delhi, Mar 25 (PTI) Wheat dara prices continued to slide for third consecutive day and shed Rs 25 per quintal in the wholesale grains market today due to adequate stocks in the market following rising arrivals of new crop.

    However, rice basmati rose on fresh buying interest.

    Traders said adequate stocks due to rising arrivals of new crop mainly put pressure on the wheat dara prices.

    In the national capital, wheat dara (for mills) remained under pressure and fell by Rs 25 to Rs 1,225-1,230 per quintal.

    Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by the same margin to Rs 1,215-1,220 per 90 kg while atta flour mills shed Rs 5 to Rs 640-660 per 50 kg.

    Maida and sooji also declined by Rs 30 and Rs 20 to Rs 740-770 and Rs 800-820 per 50 kg, respectively.

    On the other hand, rice basmati Pusa-1121 variety rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4,200-5,200 per quintal.

    Following are today''s quotations in Rs per quintal:

    Wheat MP (deshi) 1,700-1,850, wheat dara (for mills) 1,225-1,230 chakki atta (delivery) 1,215-1,220, atta Rajdhani (10 kg) 175, Shakti bhog (10 kg) 175, Roller flour mill 640-660 (50 kg), Maida 740-770 (50 kg) and Sooji 800-820 (50 kg).

    Basmati rice (Lal Quila) 9,500, Shri Lal Mahal 9,300, super basmati rice 9,000, Basmati common 5,400-5,500, rice Pusa-(1121) 4,200-5,200, Permal raw 1,850-1,900, Permal wand 2,050-2,150, Sela 2,100-2,175 and Rice IR-8 1,750-1,775, Bajra 910-920, Jowar yellow 1000-1075, white 1,825-1,875, Maize 1,310-1,320, Barley (UP) 1,350-1,370 and Rajasthan 1,080-1,090.
