Wheat futures fall on rain prediction
Wheat futures fell the most in a week on speculation that storms in the U.S. Great Plains during the next week will improve prospects for developing crops.
Kansas, the biggest winter- wheat-growing state; Colorado; and Oklahoma may get a half inch to 1 1/2 inches of rain from storms starting this weekend, said Charlie Notis, a meteorologist and co-owner of Des Moines, Iowa-based Freese-Notis Weather. Much of the region is experiencing severe to moderate drought after months of dry weather, according to data from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
